The Catcher In The Rye- Chapter 1

Main character Holden, starts off with saying he isn't going to tell us about his rough childhood or anything about his parents. But he will talk about the day he left Pency Prep. There is a football game going on. He gets into talking about how he sat by his old headmasters daughter on the bus once. He felt sorry for her and she never said how good she thought her dad was. Holden is the manager of the school's fencing team. They were to have a game that day but he left the equipment on the subway so the team had to go home. The school has kicked him out because he's failing 4 subjects because he isn't applying himself. Now he's saying goodbye to school. He used to smoke so while he is running across the street he's outta breath. He also grew 6 1/2 inches over the past year. He's on his way to visit Mr. Spencer.
