A huge party is being set up at Gatsby's. With decorations, full orchestra, and food. A butler came over to Nick's to give him an invitation. Nick went over to the party that night and saw Jordan Baker who he reconigized as being Daisy's friend. They were together all night. They went to find Gatsby, because the people were talking to were very talking so politely got up to leave. They went into the library to find a drunk man sitting there. They keep looking. A man approches Nick saying he looks familiar and where did he know him from. The man remmebers him from the war and talk a little. Nick then finds out the man it Gatsby himself. (51) Then Nick and Ms. Baker are sitting while everyone is dancing with there couples. But Nick sees Gatsby by himself looking around with no girl. He finds this very odd that he throws these amazing parties but doesn't have his own girl. Then the butler comes for Ms. Baker saying that Gatsby would like a word with her. After about an hour they both came out. Nick ended up being the last to leave. When going home he sees that drunken man who was in the library in the ditch.
I really like how it said Mr. Gatsby--- picked his words wisely-- while talking to Nick and Ms. Baker it really reflected Fitzgerald in writing this book. Of how carefully he selected every word.
I love how Gatsby always says -- Old sport-- While talking to Nick
Then this quote that Nick says at the very end of the chapter. " I am one of the few honest people that I have ever known" (64)
