Chapter 18

After his crazy date he leave the rink and goes to a drug store to get something to eat. He can't stop thinking about Jane and wants to call her but doesn't. He remembers seeing Jane at a dance with a guy he didn't like and who seems like a jerk. But Jane says he wasn't then holden says all girls just use that excuse to date arrogant guys. He calls Jane but she doesn't answer so he call a friend carl and they agree to meet up for drinks later that night. Holden goes to a movie the radio city music hall he see the rockettes dance set up and thinks this is phoney and fake. But makes him remember how Allie liked the drummer in the orchestra. After the boring war movie he starts walking to the bar that he's meeting carl at. He thinks about war and how he could never be in because of how his brother has explained it. He says he would rather get shot by a firing squad or sit on an atom bomb.

I've seen the rockettes show and can related to how superficial they make the set. It's gigantic and completely over done which I found really awesome. I hope things with Carl go over better than how they went to Sally.
