Ah.. finally I understand the squirrel question on the quiz.
I was confused about Henry's feelings toward the rest of his men
Is he mad at them for winning the battle without him? When he ran away..
So Henry goes to the forest and throw a pine cone at a squirrel. The squirrel runs away with chattering fear. He compares himself to this ordinary squirrel. How when he is faced with danger it is just instinct to run away when your life could be in danger. Then Henry finds a corpse in the same blue uniform he wears with black ants crawling all over it. Of course Henry gets freaked out and runs away.
