Chapter 12

I didn't understand the line.. He knew at once the steel fibers had been washed from their hearts.. what in the world is that referring to? and then sayhing the dragons were comin with invincible strides.. so i think he is talking about the confederates calling the red coats the dragons.. right? So finally Henry goes to the battlefield and sees them coming at him and grabs hold of a fleeing man and is asking him what went wrong. The man is yelling to let him go and when Henry doesn't he knocks henry no the bed with the end of his rifle. He feels like Jim and is falling the ground and bleeding.. pretty dramatic scene in my minds eye.. So a stranger finds him and knows he's in bad shape he talks to Henry asks where he's from and talks about his friend Jack he died. He leads henry back to his regiment then disappears back into the forest. Henry then realizes he never even saw this cheerful mans face
